TYLER Perry was served court papers from his sex assault accuser at his multi-million-dollar Georgia estate, where he appears to be laying low amid the bombshell filing.
The media mogul, 56, is being sued by actor Derek Dixon after the pair worked together on Perry’s show The Oval.
Perry is being accused in court documents of sexual assault, sexual harassment, and sexual battery, which his team has denied, labeling the suit “a scam.”
Now, The U.S. Sun can reveal Perry was officially handed the papers at his lavish mansion on August 25.
The filing lists his description and states he received the documents while he was home at 2:29 pm.
Days later, Dixon’s lawyers also served TPS Production Services, LLC, with a woman named in the documents as having been handed a copy of the complaint.
It was delivered to a second address for the company in Lawrenceville, Georgia.
Perry first started working on his estate after purchasing 856 acres in Douglas County in 2013, according to property records.
Little has been seen of the home over the years as Perry has kept it private, but drone photographs published by TMZ show the 40,000 square-foot mansion now rests atop 2,100 acres.
The home, just outside of Atlanta, features a grand entrance and manicured gardens with a lap pool seen in aerial snaps.
Tyler will not be shaken down.”
Tyler Perry's lawyer, Matthew Boyd.Perry, who lives minutes from his film studios, has not been pictured since the lawsuit was filed back in June.
He is yet to officially respond to the complaint, but his lawyer, Matthew Boyd, said in a statement, “This is an individual who got close to Tyler Perry for what now appears to be nothing more than setting up a scam.”
He added, “Tyler will not be shaken down, and we are confident these fabricated claims of harassment will fail.”
News of the papers being served comes as Dixon, who is seeking $260 million in damages, gave his first on-camera interview to ABC News.
“It’s been hard,” he told the outlet. “There’s a lot of shame around it. Just trying to think what you could have done better and having to deal with the judgment of how you could’ve ended it better without being in that situation.”
Dixon says he first met Perry at a studio opening party in 2019 while he was working at an events company.
Perry allegedly asked if he was an actor, gave him his number, and said “we’ll talk about this.”
Dixon and Perry then worked together on a show called Ruthless, after which the actor says Perry invited him to his Atlanta home.
Dixon claims in the suit that he asked to sleep in a spare room after a night of drinking, and Perry followed him into the bed and started to touch his thighs.
The actor alleges he rejected any advances, but claims the director was still interested in him sexually.
DAMNING CLAIMS
A few months later, Dixon landed the role of Dale in Perry’s show, The Oval.
Dixon claims in the suit that Perry then began to send sexually suggestive texts and ask about his sexuality, which he says he found “strange and untowardly.”
He claims that because he was new to the industry, he didn’t want to rock the boat by reporting Perry, and was scared his career would be over if he did.
The actor claims the messages continued for years, and Perry allegedly grabbed Dixon’s throat during one argument.
Dixon admits he stayed at the director’s Atlanta home again in June 2021.
He was staying in the guest house and wearing only underwear when he claims Tyler came into the room to say goodnight.
The pair shared a hug before Perry allegedly pulled down Dixon’s briefs, grabbed at his backside, and told him to “relax.”
According to the suit, Dixon filed a complaint with the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission in June 2024 and quit his role on The Oval.
Dixon is now suing Tyler and Tyler Perry Studios for quid pro quo over the accusations.
He wrote in the suit: “Just like Harvey Weinstein, Bill Cosby, R. Kelly, Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs, Kevin Spacey, Roger Ailes, and many others in the industry, Mr. Perry’s success has led him to believe that money and influence can get him whatever he wants.”
