Damascus , SANA – The Syrian Ministry of Education announced the reinstatement of nearly 17,000 teachers who were arbitrarily dismissed by the former regime during the years of the revolution, in a move aimed at rebuilding the education sector and restoring its professional workforce.
In a statement to SANA, the Ministry confirmed that reinstated teachers—both men and women—will resume their duties after completing the necessary procedures with local education directorates by September 15.
The Ministry stressed that the decision reflects its commitment to supporting educators, strengthening their role in the learning process, and promoting stability and development within the sector. It added that the reinstatement process was based on detailed and accurate statistics prepared by the Ministry of Administrative Development over recent months.
