Damascus, SANA-The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates announced on Friday the launch of a new electronic application for booking consular appointments, as part of its ongoing efforts to improve services provided to Syrian citizens abroad.
Azzou al-Mohammad, Director of the Information Systems and Digital Transformation Department at the Ministry, told SANA that the app replaces the previous platform developed during the former regime, which suffered from security and organizational flaws that allowed appointment exploitation, resale, and the use of bots—depriving citizens of their rights.
Al-Mohammad pointed out that the ministry’s team developed a secure system that ensures transparent appointment distribution and prevents any manipulation. The Director also noted that the first trial version of the app will be launched at the Syrian Embassy in Beirut, in preparation for its rollout to all Syrian embassies and missions worldwide.Al-Mohammad explained that the app will later serve as a platform for offering additional electronic consular services, aiming to reduce the need for embassy visits and accelerate transactions through automated procedures.
He affirmed the ministry’s continued commitment to developing its digital services to provide fair, transparent, and swift solutions for Syrian citizens abroad.
