Oscar Piastri can take tighten his grip on the F1 Drivers’ Championship Title in Monza this weekend.
The McLaren driver claimed a seventh race win of the season at last week’s Dutch Grand Prix.
With team-mate Lando Norris retiring in Zandvoort, Piastri extended his lead over the Brit to 34 points.
Norris will be hoping to bounce back at the Italian Grand Prix, though.
Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc won at Monza last year in his team’s home race but both their drivers crashed out in the Netherlands.
It went from bad to worse for Lewis Hamilton after the race as he was slapped with a five-place grid penalty.
The seven-time world champion was penalised after failing to slow down under double yellow flags.
Hamilton is still waiting for his first podium since joining Ferrari, who will be roared on by the Tifosi on home soil.
Italian Grand Prix: Date and how to follow
The Italian Grand Prix race weekend gets underway on Friday, September 5.
First practice is scheduled for 12.30pm before the second session at 4pm on the same day.
The third and final practice session will be held on Saturday, September 6 at 11.30am.
Qualification for the race takes place at 3pm following the conclusion of practice.
Monza will host Ferrari’s home race as the F1 season heads back to ItalyGettyThe race itself caps off the weekend on Sunday, September 7 with a 2pm start time.
All three practice sessions, qualifying and the race will be broadcast live on Sky Sports F1.
