*generic “football is back” proclamation*
Every year, I forget that I’m going to bleep around all day on Monday and short myself on the power ratings prep, so no time for waxing poetic about the best damn sport on earth, I’m trying to keep up with injury news and roster shuffling.
Either way, this is where I landed for the final ratings heading into week one. At some point maybe I should write a more detailed explanation, but a power rating is not a power ranking. It adds a bit of context as to how far apart teams are. Zero would be an average team, so in this case, my rough “fair price” for Baltimore against an average team (on a neutral field) would be roughly -6.5 since I currently rate them 6.57 points better.

I’m willing to take a stand on a couple of teams that I think the general sentiment is too hot or too cool on.
One that sticks out like a sore thumb is New England. The upgrade the market gave this team coming off last season is a bit too big for my tastes, considering the lack of meaningful changes on the offensive side of the ball. Maybe Drake proves me wrong, it’s happened before
