Caroline Bryan from Grosse Pointe Park, Michigan, has given Rutgers University their first verbal commitment for 2028-29, writing on social media:
“B1G news!! I am beyond excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic career at Rutgers University! I would like to thank my family, friends, grandparents, and teammates for supporting me through this crazy journey so far and for always being there for me. To my coaches (special shoutout to Coach Fo and Coach Stacy), thank you for always believing in me, encouraging me to always give it my all, and helping me fall in love with the sport of swimming. I couldn’t have made it this far without all of you. Thank you to the Rutgers coaching staff for providing me with this amazing opportunity to continue doing what I love at the collegiate level! Go Scarlet Knights !!”
Bryan swims for Grosse Pointe South High School, where she is currently a junior, and Grosse Pointe Gators. At the MHSAA Division 2 State Championships last November, she won the 100 fly (54.59) and was runner-up in the 200 IM (2:05.59). She also anchored the winning 200 free relay (23.23) and runner-up 400 free relay (51.05). As a freshman, she won the 100 fly (54.92), placed 4th in the 100 back (57.34), and swam the fly leg (24.68) on the winning medley relay.
After high school season, Bryan went on to compete at Winter Juniors East in the 100 back, 100 fly, and 200 fly. She finaled in the 100 fly (22nd place) and earned a new PB in the 200 fly (2:02.84). At the 2026 NCSA Spring Championships, she updated her times in the 50 back (27.19), 100 back (56.60), 50 fly (24.95), and 200 fly (2:02.42), while making finals in the 50/100/200 fly.
This summer, Bryan had an outstanding meet at Columbus Sectionals, earning lifetime bests in the 50 back (30.98), 100 back (1:06.97), 50 fly (28.23), 100 fly (1:02.48), and 200 fly (2:21.82), and qualifying for Summer Juniors in the 50/100 fly. At Knoxville Futures, she dropped 2.9 seconds in the 200 fly (2:18.99) and at Summer Junior Nationals, she improved her 100 back time to 1:06.14.

50 fly – 24.95 100 fly – 54.14 200 fly – 2:02.42 50 back – 27.19 100 back – 56.60 200 IM – 2:05.52The Scarlet Knights finished 11th out of 14 teams at the 2026 B1G Women’s Swim & Dive Championships. It took 53.24/ 2:00.07 to score in the butterfly events and 54.05 to make it back in the 100 back.
