Former Indian cricketer Manoj Tiwary has made an emotional appeal to boycott the upcoming match against India in the upcoming Asia Cup 2025, starting on September 9. The India vs Pakistan clash is scheduled on September 14 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai.
BCCI and the Indian government have been facing the wrath of the fans, former cricketers, and politicians for scheduling the India vs Pakistan game, especially after the deadly terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, on April 22, which claimed 26 lives.
The Pakistan-backed terrorists were behind the Pahalgam attack, after which a brief war broke out between the two, and the Indian government insisted that Operation Sindoor is still underway. Amid the public outrage, Manoj Tiwary said that he is personally boycotting the tournament.

The former Indian batter has pointed out the repeated terror incidents, including the devastating Pulwama attack in 2019 that killed 40 CRPF personnel, questioning the morality of celebrating the game while the wounds of terrorism remain fresh.
Manoj Tiwary was quoted as saying by ANI: “Look, first of all, I am boycotting the Asia Cup personally. I don't like to see it. And I don't know who the squad is, and I don't want to go into that much detail."

The Bengal minister further added, “What is the benefit? You have to get TRP; you need revenue? If the ICC people cannot get rid of them, then you get rid of that game. In the other games, you do well. See what happens. This will be a statement from our country.”

Manoj Tiwary says families of martyrs deserve respect, not the India vs Pakistan match
Tiwary has further openly attacked Pakistan by saying the terrorists, who were behind Pulwama, Pahalgam, and other attacks, were from the neighboring country.
He noted that the Pakistani government has never tried its best to end the terrorist organizations in their country, so there is no point in India facing the Men in Blue on the cricket field.
The former Indian batter stressed that the families affected by the Pulwama and Pahalgam tragedies cannot be expected to watch India compete against a nation linked to the loss of their loved ones.

Tiwary signed off by saying, “So, understand, the families who lost their members, in what mindset will they be? In what emotional state will they be?
