Fitter and Faster Swim Camps is the proud sponsor of SwimSwam’s College Recruiting Channel and all commitment news. For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.

Winter Junior Nationals qualifier Addison Carlile has verbally committed to Iowa for the recruiting class of 2026.

“I’m super excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my athletic and academic career at the University of Iowa! Thanks to everyone who has supported me and believed in me and thanks to coach Mundt for giving me this amazing opportunity. GO HAWKS!!”

Carlile joins a line of Division I swimmers in her family. One of her brothers, Jackson, swam at Indiana and another brother, Connor, swam Alabama.

She currently swims at Castle High School in Newburgh, Indiana where she competed at the 2025 State Championships. At the meet, she qualified for the ‘B’ finals in the 200 free, finishing 12th in 1:52.46, and in the 100 fly, where she finished 16th in 56.66.

She also swims club for the Win Tidal Wave and swam at the 2024 Winter Junior Nationals – East meet, finishing 50th in the 50 free (23.52), 49th in the 100 free (51.23), and 41st in the 200 free (1:50.35).

Last month, Carlile competed at the 2025 NCSA Summer Championships, where she made the finals in the 50 free, 200 free, and 100 backstroke. Her 50 freestyle was a new personal best time at 26.83.

    Carlile’s SCY Best Times

    100 free- 51.09 200 free- 1:49.55 500 free- 4:59.82 100 fly- 55.11 200 fly- 2:02.06

Iowa is a member of the Big Ten conference, where they finished 14th out of 14 teams last season, coming in just over 50 points behind Illinois. Carlile will be a strong addition to their team and will likely contribute on the freestyle relays as a freshman.

Her 100 freestyle time would have been 4th on the team last year and her 200 free would have been 2nd, which both bode well for the Hawks. She will also make an impact in the fly events, where her 100 would have been 3rd and her 200 would have been 2nd.

She doesn’t have a clear 3rd event right now, but her 500 freestyle is currently her best bet and would have been 6th on the team last season.

She sits outside of Big Ten scoring right now, but she has a full year before she gets to Iowa, and most of her best times come from 2023, so she could improve into a conference scoring position by February of 2027.
