West Ham have revived a move for Botafogo goalkeeper John Victor, talkSPORT understands.
The Hammers are working on a loan deal with a buy option at the end of the season.
Victor was set to join the Hammers for around £10million earlier this month before they signed Mads Hermansen from Leicester City.
The move was driven by head coach Graham Potter, who talkSPORT understands is safe in his job for now.
Hermansen has conceded eight goals in their opening two Premier League fixtures of the season.
Sunderland scored three times on the opening weekend, before Chelsea put five past the Hammers on Friday night.
Hermansen is not featuring in West Ham’s Carabao Cup second round tie against Wolves on Tuesday night.
Alphonse Areola was given the nod by Potter but had a moment to forget when Rodrigo Gomes’ tame strike squeezed under him.
Hwang Hee-chan missed a penalty for Wolves moments before.
West Ham worries
Despite finishing 18 points clear of the relegation zone last season, West Ham raised eyebrows with a final standing of 14th.
Potter joined as head coach in January but has won just six of his 22 matches in charge.
A trip to Sunderland in their Premier League openers for the 2025/26 campaign spelled an excellent opportunity for a winning start.
Hermansen is under pressure after playing just two games for West HamGettyBut a dismal second half performance against the newly-promoted side meant they left the Stadium of Light with nothing.
