Napoli are reportedly willing to include a clause in their loan deal to sign Rasmus Hojlund from Manchester United that would be a huge boost to the Premier League club.
Hojlund, 22, looks destined for the exit door at Old Trafford this summer after falling even further down the pecking order under boss Ruben Amorim.
The striker has been told he will have limited opportunities if he sticks around following the arrival of £74million man Benjamin Sesko.
Italian champions Napoli are understood to be one of the teams leading the charge to take him off United’s hands, following an injury to their frontman Romelu Lukaku.
And although initial talks had centred around a loan deal with an option to buy, Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio has claimed that Napoli are now willing to commit to an obligation clause.
That would be a huge boost for United, who would be able to guarantee a hefty influx of cash to try and rebalance the books after a summer of heavy spending.
The Red Devils have the largest net spend in the league so far this season, splashing over £210m on Sesko, Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo and Diego Leon without moving on any of their unwanted stars just yet.
Hojlund’s exit could raise significant funds with United thought to be looking for around £40m for the Dane, who they signed for £72m just two seasons ago.
Since arriving in Manchester, Hojlund has scored 26 goals in 95 appearances.
Napoli are not the only club interested in the Danish international either, with fellow Serie A side AC Milan also expressing an interest earlier in the window – as confirmed by sporting director Igli Tare.

Premier League outfit Fulham have also been keeping tabs on Hojlund’s situation.
Hojlund was left out of Man Utd’s opening game of the season, a 1-0 home defeat to Arsenal.
Speaking after the game, Ruben Amorim said: “It is a fight for places.
“We’ll see what is going to happen in the market. There are different characteristics.
“Rasmus has the same characteristics of Benjamin Sesko, so we need to choose.”
