A 92-year-old pedestrian was struck by a vehicle and critically injured while cross a street in the Park West area on Monday evening, officials said.
The man was injured around 7:50 p.m. Monday when a 78-year-old woman behind the wheel of 2020 Honda Accord traveling south on Sixth Street struck him in the crosswalk at the intersection of Grape Street, according to the San Diego Police Department.
The victim sustained a contusion to his brain, but did not require surgery, police reported.
It was unclear if the man had crossed the street during a green light, but officers with the department’s Traffic Division responded to the scene and were investigating.
