THE nephew of NFL legend Ray Lewis has died, it has been announced.
Shenandoah University athletics have revealed the tragic passing of Keyshawn Wilder.
He was an assistant coach and former player of the college.
His age or the manor of his death have yet to be announced.
“It is with deep sadness that Shenandoah Athletics announces the passing of beloved former student-athlete and assistant football coach, Keyshawn Wilder,” said a statement from the school in Northern Virginia.
“Wilder’s dedication to the Shenandoah football team was profound both on and off the field.
“His hard work and compassion for the game translated directly to those around him.
“His incredible leadership helped pave the way for new leaders to follow in his footsteps.
“We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, colleagues, teammates and the entire Shenandoah Football family during this difficult time
“We stand with them in solidarity and prayer, and we pray for the strength to bear this very painful loss.“May his soul rest in peace.”
Wilder was working towards a Bachelor of Business Administration degree at the college.
He was also the Hornets’ defensive backs coach at the time of his death.
His uncle was legendary former Baltimore Ravens linebacker Ray Lewis, according to reports.
Wilder’s unexpected passing comes just two years after the NFL icon lost his own son aged just 28.
Ray III passed away from an accidental overdose.
The Northern Virginia Daily reported Wilder was the son of Lewis’ eldest sister.

Shenandoah University has offered counseling to anyone affected by Wilder’s death.

He was a former player at the college, starting in 2019.
The Baltimore native then took a year off during the Covid pandemic, before resuming in 2021 until 2023.
Wilder spent last season as a member of the coaching staff.
Over 38 games, he had 142 tackles and 13 interceptions
He was named All-Region in 2022 and 2023.
