As the national broadcast schedule made painfully clear, not many folks are looking forward to the Chicago Bulls’ 2025-26 season. However, if you look past the repeated Play-In berths and the ugly projected win total (I know, difficult!), there are still a handful of fun games and reasons to tune in this Fall.
Let’s go over some of the most intriguing games on the Bulls’ recently released slate!
Chicago Bulls Schedule: Five Games to Circle
Oct. 22 – vs. Detroit Pistons
The Chicago Bulls will open up this season by hosting a division rival at the United Center. Yes, we can all agree that divisions mean diddly-squat in the NBA, but we can also agree that the history between these two teams runs deep. Beating the Pistons will always carry a little extra weight for the Bulls, especially now that the Pistons have started to pass them in the standings for the first time in quite some time.
Detroit has started to finally figure things out with a roster that features several young up-and-coming players. Chicago would love to prove that they are on a similar track, and beating them on opening night would be a great start.
Oct. 29 – vs. Sacramento Kings
To most others, Kings-Bulls sounds like detention. But they aren’t sickos like us! The Kings have willingly turned themselves into the Bulls of the West, and this game will pit both Zach LaVine and DeMar DeRozan against their former team. Even if both organizations look to be on the fast track to nowhere, these kinds of matchups always come with a little extra juice.
A part of LaVine and DeRozan must take the Bulls’ decision to move on from them personally. Meanwhile, former teammates like Coby White, Ayo Dosunmu, and Josh Giddey will want to show they are just fine without the veteran All-Stars. Correspondingly, this game will mark LaVine’s return to the city where he spent the majority of his career. Cue the tribute video!
Nov. 11 – vs. San Antonio Spurs
When Victor Wembanyama comes to town, you might as well take note. The young Frenchman has become a must-see show, and I expect the United Center to be packed to the brim as long as he is healthy. Aside from his super stardom, however, the Spurs are the exact kind of team the Chicago Bulls should be eager to match up against!
San Antonio is another franchise stuffed with high-upside young talent. If the Bulls want to prove they are on the right track, keeping things tight with a team like this is one way to do it. I primarily see this as a big battle for Matas Buzelis. Not only does he get to face off against reigning Rookie of the Year Stephon Castle, but he will be up against rookies Dylan Harper and Carter Bryant. Make a statement, young fella!
Jan. 16 – at Brooklyn Nets
If Kings-Bulls is detention, Bulls-Nets might as well be imprisonment! Somehow, the NBA decided to subject a national audience to this meeting, as this will be both teams’ lone game on ESPN this season.
Look, I’m not going to sit here and pretend it isn’t an odd choice, but I do see it as a great opportunity for this Bulls’ roster. This is one of the few teams they should be able to beat up on this season, and they have a chance to do it in primetime! If you’re Coby White on an expiring deal or Matas Buzelis looking to have a breakout season, this is the kind of game you should come into ready to make a statement.
Feb. 5 – at Toronto Raptors
Similar to the above contest, Chicago’s meeting with Toronto will be its last in front of a national audience. The game will be up north and on Amazon Prime, pitting one retooling squad against another. The Bulls and Raptors have been neck-and-neck in the mediocre rankings over the last few years, but the Bulls have a chance to demonstrate they’re on a better path this season.
The Raptors may have arguably the best young player to build around in Scottie Barnes, but they are also far more expensive and have far less flexibility. If the Bulls can win the season series and go into the 2026 summer with more room to tweak things, it will finally feel like they have created some space between them and Toronto.
