Because August is a quiet month for hockey and the Blackhawks are celebrating their Centennial this coming season, we’ve been rolling through some of the franchise leaders and award winners from throughout the history of the franchise. Today, we’ll look at the Blackhawks goaltenders honored with the Vezina Trophy and Jennings Trophy.

So it makes sense that we now turn our attention to the award given to the best goaltender in the league each year, the Vezina Trophy. Four of the greatest netminders in NHL history have won the award multiple times while playing for the Blackhawks. Tony Esposito leads the way with three Vezina Trophy wins.
Here are the ten seasons during which seven different Blackhawks goaltenders won/shared the Vezina Trophy:

Since 1981, the NHL has awarded the William M. Jennings Trophy to the goalie(s) “having played a minimum of 25 games for the team with the fewest goals scored against it” during the regular season. If you’re wondering about Tony O and Bernie Parent sharing the Vezina Trophy in 1973-74, the Vezina was given for this distinction from 1946-81.
Since 1981, the Blackhawks have earned the Jennings Trophy five times — with two primary goalies accomplishing the feat.
