Buchi Babu: Maharashtra’s captain & new beginnings for Prithvi Shaw
Ankit Bawne has been named Maharashtra’s captain over Ruturaj Gaikwad, who is their Ranji Trophy captain. Bawne was actually leading the team in Gaikwad’s absence against Tripura in January. The middle-order batter is Maharashtra’s second-most capped skipper and has led them on and off from 2017 to 2025.
Prithvi Shaw, who recently switched from Mumbai, will be making his Maharashtra debut. It’ll be a exciting new chapter for Prithvi, who’s looking to turn his career around. He might even face his old Mumbai teammates Sarfaraz Khan, Musheer Khan and Ayush Mhatre if both teams qualify for the semifinal or final.
