Marni Kraemer of Reno, Nevada has announced her verbal commitment to continue her academic and athletic career at the University of Minnesota beginning in fall 2027.
“I’m very excited to announce my verbal commitment to the University of Minnesota, where I will continue my athletic and academic career. I would like to thank Coach Stacy, Maddy, Zach, Micheal, and Kelly for giving me this amazing opportunity. A huge shout out to my family and coaches who have helped me along the way. Go Golden Gophers!! ”
Kraemer swims for the Lakeridge Swim Team and Galena High School. She most recently competed at Futures in Sacramento at the end of July. There she saw her highest finish come in the 400 IM where she swam a 5:02.05 for 7th. She swam to numerous lifetime bests with a 30.39 50 back, 1:13.95 100 breast, and a 2:40.02 200 breast.
She swam to a state title at the 2026 Nevada High School 5A Championship as she won the 200 free in a 1:51.75. She also was 2nd in the 100 back with a 56.76.
Kraemer’s Best SCY Times Are:
200 breast: 2:13.03 200 IM: 2:00.93 400 IM: 4:16.57The Minnesota women finished 6th out of 14 teams at the 2026 Big Ten Championships. Divers Vivi Del Angel and Elna Widerstrom were the team’s two highest individual scorers.
Based on her best times, Kraemer would already make the Big Ten ‘C’ final in the 200 breast. Grace Drabot (2:11.07, 15th) and Keira Mullins (2:13.42, 21st) were the two finalists in the event for the Gophers this past season. Kraemer’s best time in the 400 IM would also have made the ‘C’ final while it took a 2:00.70 200 IM to score.
Kraemer will arrive next fall as a member of the class of 2031 along with Lauren McGrath who primarily swims free and IM.
