Six Flags Magic Mountain will stick with its new Fright Fest formula of rolling out haunted mazes based on major horror movie franchises in an effort to take on Universal’s Horror Nights in a bloody battle royale for Halloween supremacy.
The Saw, Conjuring and Trick ‘r Treat haunted mazes will return to the Valencia amusement park during the Fright Fest 2025 seasonal event running on select nights from Sept. 19 through Nov. 2.
Fright Fest tickets will go on sale Tuesday, Aug. 12.

Both the $1 billion Saw franchise and $2 billion Conjuring franchise are helmed by acclaimed horror filmmaker James Wan.

The four returning mazes will include Condemned, Truth or Dare, Vault 666 and Willoughby’s Resurrected.
Two new scare zones coming to Fright Fest 2025 will be themed to 1950s music and Alice in Wonderland.

The Thunderbolt Alley scare zone will drop visitors into an alternate universe where classic monsters dance to a rockabilly soundtrack.
The Nightmares: Reign of Blood scare zone will take visitors down a rabbit hole where the sinister Queen of Hearts and her forces of darkness await.
The seven returning scare zones will include CarnivHell, City Under Siege, Devil’s Triangle, Exile Hill, Grimmlore Ridge, Plaza de La Muerte and Underworlds of Oz.
The new “Monster Ball” show coming to Fright Fest 2025 will crown a queen of the monsters each night during a song-and-dance review.

The two returning shows will include the “Unleashed” opening ceremony and a Slider of the Night competition.
The Fright Fest scare zones and shows will be included with daily admission to Magic Mountain. Daily visitors and season passholders will need to buy a Haunted Attractions Pass to access the mazes.
Passholders can also purchase an All-Season Haunted Attractions Pass good throughout Fright Fest (minus any blockout dates).
Fright Fest 2025 will run on 26 nights at Six Flags Magic Mountain:
Sept. 19, 20 and 21 Sept. 26, 27 and 28 Oct. 2, 3, 4 and 5 Oct. 9, 10, 11 and 12 Oct. 16, 17, 18 and 19 Oct. 23, 24, 25 and 26 Oct. 30 and 31 and Nov. 1 and 2Fright Fest will start at 7 p.m. each night and run until midnight on Thursdays and Sundays and until1 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.

Magic Mountain took a big swing at Universal’s Horror Nights in 2024 with a strong lineup that also included mazes based on the Stranger Things and Army of the Dead horror franchises.
Halloween Horror Nights 2025 at Universal Studios Hollywood will include mazes based on the Friday the 13th, Fallout and Terrifier horror franchises.
