SHOPPERS will be able to keep track of yellow sticker deals landing in their local Iceland store thanks to a handy app tool.

Olio is a sharing app that aims to cut down on waste by letting people pick up items for free from people nearby or from local shops and supermarkets.

It’s also got a genius tool that lets you track yellow sticker discounts live in certain stores near you – and now Iceland has joined in.

By looking at the app, you’ll be able to see what items are reduced to clear in your local store in real time.

The app is updated every five minutes so you should be lucky enough to snag a bargain if you’re quick.

To keep track of the deals, you just need to open the Olio app and head to the Reduced Food section on the home screen.

You’ll see all the stores nearby that offer live yellow sticker discount tracking, as well as all the items currently on offer.

If you go to your Explore page and tap on the ‘Type’ filter icon, you can filter the reduced food items by category and store.

You can save your favourite discounted items to your Watchlist to help you plan your shopping trip.

However this doesn’t reserve the item and you’ll still need to head to the store to pick it up and pay for it at the till as usual.

If a reduced item is no longer available it will show up as ‘sold out’ on the app.

Roughly 300 stores around the UK are taking part currently.

Olio says the stores taking part change regularly so the best thing to do is check your app to see what’s on offer near you.

You can also set your notifications to be alerted when new reduced food items become available near you.

Olio users can also use the app to pick up items for free.

Some of the items are offered by people in your area trying to get rid of things.

This could include food but also things like furniture, homewares, cleaning products, beauty products and clothes.

One savvy saver previously said she had got a huge food haul worth £26 for free from Olio.

Leah Clark Harris shared a snap of her haul on money-saving Facebook group Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK.

“Freebies from Olio. £26 worth. Best before dates. All going to be prepped and frozen,” she said.

“Saved from landfill and saved me money.”

Amongst the items included were two bags of carrots, two packets of green beans, coronation chicken, vegetable mash, and three double packs of stuffed mushrooms.

How you can save with yellow-sticker bargains

Yellow sticker bargains can save you thousands of pounds on your shopping – but the best time to get them depends on where you go.

The stickers, sometimes red or orange in colour, are put on products that have been discounted because they’re slightly damaged or near their sell-by dates.

One bargain hunter previously revealed how she saves around £50 a week on her grocery bill by snagging the cut-price items.

When to bag yellow sticker bargains

Aldi: Look for red stickers near closing time, offering up to 75% off perishable items and 30% off damaged packaging goods.

Asda: Discounts happen twice daily, in the morning and evening. Early risers can find fresh produce for as low as 10p.

Lidl: Price cuts occur first thing in the morning and before closing. Use the Lidl Plus app for additional weekly promotions.

Marks and Spencer: Reductions often occur near closing time. Monthly in-store offers and combo deals, like the £12 Dine In for Two, provide extra savings.

Morrisons: Yellow sticker discounts appear throughout the day. Register for a More Card to get specific day-based discounts, like 20% off fish on Fridays.

Sainsbury’s: No set discount times; look for yellow ‘reduced’ stickers. Register for Nectar prices for nearly 50% off weekly offers.

Tesco: No fixed discount times. Check the “mark-down section” in 300 stores for reduced-price items like salads, bread, and meat.
