Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Cabinet, led by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, on Friday approved five major proposals during its 23rd meeting held at Lok Seva Bhawan.

The approved proposals included one each from the Water Resources Department, the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Department, and the Finance Department, along with two proposals from the Law Department, informed Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja during a media briefing following the meeting.

    The State Cabinet approved amendments to the Orissa District and Civil Courts’ Judicial Staff Services (Method of Recruitment and Conditions of Service) Rules, 2008.

    The Cabinet also approved a proposal to amend the Odisha Law Officers Rules, 1971.

    The Cabinet gave its nod to a proposal to amendment the Odisha Goods and Services Tax Act, 2017 to simplify tax provisions and curb evasion.

    The State Cabinet also approved the extension of the “Mukhyamantri Adibandha Tiyari Yojana (MATY)-3.0” scheme for an additional five years, from FY 2025-26 to 2029-30. The scheme aims to provide assured irrigation facilities to farmers in areas where they traditionally depend on temporary cross-bunds across streams.
