DENVER (KDVR) -- A 17-year-old driver was arrested Friday morning after Aurora police say he fled a three-vehicle crash at South Pitkin Road and South Buckley Way.
The Aurora Police Department told FOX31 its patrol officers responded to a report of the three-vehicle crash at about 6:30 a.m., and that, according to a preliminary investigation, the 17-year-old took off and ran after rear-ending one of the vehicles.
APD said the driver of the rear-ended vehicle chased the 17-year-old, who the department said ran north on South Buckley Road, before ultimately tackling the 17-year-old and pinning him to the ground until officers arrived.
The 17-year-old was detained at the scene, according to APD, which said there were no weapons involved in the incident and that charges are pending further investigation but will "likely include hit-and-run."
APD said the driver of the vehicle that was rear-ended was taken to a local hospital for treatment of "unknown injuries."
