July 17-July 21, 2025 Roseville Aquatic Complex, Roseville, CA Long course meters (LCM) Results can be found on Meet Mobile: “2025 Bill Rose Classic – SNS LCM JO’s”

Sacramento Aquatics Club’s Lauren Lonsdale continued her march up the 13-14 age group all-time rankings at The Bill Rose Classic. The 13-year-old stormed to victory in the girl’s open 200 IM, touching the wall in 2:15.79. That makes her the ninth fastest performer of all time in the girls’ 13-14 age group. Lonsdale’s performance in the girls’ open 400 IM was equally impressive. She blasted off to a time of 4:46.27, taking first and becoming the 12th fastest 13-14 year old of all time in the event.

Lonsdale rose to national prominence in late 2022 when she was listed as an honorable mention in 2022’s Swammy Awards: Age Group Swimmer of the Year – 10 and under. She won the Swammy for 11-12 age group swimmer in 2024, and is quickly making her mark in the 13-14 age group.

Lonsdale also took gold in the girls’ open 200 breast (2:34.77), open 50 free (26.62), open 100 free (57.37), open 200 free (2:02.73), and open 400 free (4:16.69). She propelled herself up the girls’ 13-14 all time rankings in four of those events. Lonsdale is now the 99th fastest performer of all time in the 100 free, 75th in the 200 breast, 46th in the 200 free, and 37th in the 400 free. The girls’ 50 freestyle is the only event Lonsdale swam at the meet where she isn’t listed in the all-time rankings.

In total, Lonsdale took seven individual golds and clocked a personal best in every event she swam. She also won both the 13-14 and open category of each event she swam.

Lonsdale wasn’t the only swimmer to have a dominant performance. Wolverine Aquatic’s Trai Xiong, 18, took victory in five events. He won the boys’ 17-18 200 breast in 2.24.50, the 17-18 400 IM in 4:50.98, the open 200 IM in 2:11.41, the open 100 breast in 1:05.75, and the open 50 breast in 30.23. He grabbed futures cuts in the 100 breast, 200 breast, and 200 IM, and went a personal best in all of his wins.

Sierra Marlins Swim Team’s Kota Charles, 15, also clocked a couple of quick times. He achieved a futures cut in the boys’ 400 IM and a Summer Junior Nationals cut in the boys’ 200 breast. He clocked 2:22.31 in the 200 breast and 4:41.98 in the 400 IM, with both times being personal bests and good enough for victory in the open category of each race.

DART Swimming’s Ethan Huynh, 10, had a standout meet in the 10 and under age group. He went 1:14.85 in the boys’ 100 back, approaching the top 100 times of all time in his age group. He won gold in that event, as well as the boys’ 200 free (2:23.70), 50 back (36.91), and 400 free (5:04.58).

    Other Standout Performances

DART Swimming’s Jaydison Dacuycuy clocked 1:06.62 in the boy’s 15-16 100 breaststroke, placing second in the event and achieving a futures cut in the 15-16 age group. Life Time Northern California’s Lilla Kapinya took the girls’ open 50 free in a time of 26.49, earning a Winter Junior Nationals cut. The 15-year-old also won the girls’ open 100 fly in 1:03.60, the girls’ 15-16 50 back in 31.73, and the girls’ 15-16 200 IM in 2:29.50.  DART Swimming’s Ethan Melnykov had the highest total medal tally of the meet. The 14-year-old won seven individual events and took home five relay medals, bringing his total medal tally at a whopping twelve for the meet.
