A practical fat-tire e-bike with great power, thoughtful design, and foldable convenience—perfect for commuters, casual adventurers, and RV life.
buy from amazonFrom the moment you unpack the Buzz Centris Folding E-Bike, it’s obvious Buzz aimed for “ready‑to‑go”: front and rear racks, integrated fenders, lights, bell, and a sleek matte black or white gloss finish there really is no need to add accessories just to hit the street, your ready to go straight out of the box. Built with an aluminum folding step‑thru frame with clean cable routing and a very bright compact LCD display. It doesn’t necessarily scream premium, but nothing really feels flimsy or poorly built. It’s certainly competitive at its price point.
Frame & Folding.
Weight & Portability.
At 67–68 lb assembled, this is no featherweight. Although it folds down decently, carrying it solo, though, like up a flight of stairs, can be awkward, especially at its folded size, but it can certainly be done, just a large, awkward suitcase.Motor, Battery & Performance
Motor: 500 W rear‑hub, Class 2 throttle-ready, pushing up to exactly 20 mph with assist or pure throttle. Battery: 48 V, around 10.4 Ah (≈500 Wh), removable and lockable, range rated up to 40 mi.Thrills & Hills.
Acceleration: The BUZZ Centris has a fairly zippy throttle; unfortunately, you can’t just go from a dead start, but like withmost kick scooters, it requires you to pedal a little bit before engaging the motor. Top Speed: Hits the 20 mph limit dead-on, the controller must be limited as the bike has plenty of power to help you get to the top speed with ease. Climbing & hills: Handled moderate inclines fine; front suspension helped with bumpy terrain.Ride Comfort & Handling.
Tires: Huge 4″ knobby fat tires are provided to help smooth out uneven pavement, gravel, or light dirt. It’s certainly ideal for a casual adventure in all weather and just about any terrain. Suspension: A front fork with 60 mm travel adds plushness but could use more travel to help handle more rugged terrain. Handling: Upright geometry and 20″ wheels make the ride feel nimble, though slightly more laid-back than sporty.Drivetrain & Braking.
Gearing: Comes with a 6-speed Shimano derailleur that is designed to cover gentle trail riding and flats. Particularly designed to handle any urban traffic you throw at it. Brakes: Mechanical disc brakes are nothing fancy, but a reliable option that performs well for a bike this size.Features & Lists.
Integrated front/rear racks, lights, fenders, and bell, great for daily errands and leisure riding. Lockable, removable battery with 4–6 hr charge time. The display features speed, assist level, mileage, and battery, nothing flashy, but functional. Safety: Certified to UL 2849 standard. Color options: Gloss White or Matte Black.Things you could complain about.
Weight: Coming in at 67 lb, it’s certainly on the hefty side; you can blame that on the over-engineered frame that can handle 300 pounds with ease. While still being able to fold into a compact size. While lifting it can strain your back, it is still very manageable to take with you on the go. Folding ease: A few users said folding isn’t as smooth as expected. Throttle usability: my wife has smaller hands and noted that it was awkward to reach the brake and the thumb throttle, as they are kind of far apart. Personally, I didn’t have that concern; it fit my hands very well. Suspension travel: Though the suspension is very responsive, it could have more travel, especially for riders on the plus size. But that’s not going to stop you from enjoying a comfortable ride on the city streets, just don’t expect super smooth riding when off-roading. Component quality: Mechanical brakes need adjusting and can seem out of date, and a 6-speed drivetrain isn’t fancy; some other brands possibly offer hydraulic brakes and 7+ speeds in this price range. But do keep in mind that hydraulic brakes do require maintenance as well; sometimes, simple things like disc brakes make things easier to maintain. Noise & comfort: Some could say that the Fat tires can get noisy on pavement, but most of the time I ride, I have music playing or the terrain blocks it out.Value & Price.

So, as you all may know from my other articles, I’m a bit of an adrenaline junkie, so whenever I get a chance to get my hands on something with a motor on it, I hop right on it. I was ecstatic to get a chance to look at this new Buzz Centris Folding Ebike as I have never really gotten the chance to dabble into the urban side of things when it comes to Ebikes. So, first things first, I was at work, and my wife was home when it was delivered. Normally, she brings things inside for me, but she said it was a very heavy and large box, so she left it under the carport for when I got home.
Now, normally I like to unbox in the house, but she wasn’t kidding, it was quite a large box and awkward to carry due to its size, so I opted to open it outside. When I was going over the outside of the box, I noticed that it had a bit of damage to one of the sides, so I was slightly concerned there might be damage, but on to the unboxing to find out! Once I got the top open, I was able to see that the inside was packed full of styrofoam and cardboard squares to help keep it safe during transit.
Once I got the bike out and unwrapped from all the foam, and that was no small feat, the amount of zip ties and tape holding the protective wrapping on was a little overkill, but I guess if you want your product to arrive safely, then you have to deal with a little more unpacking. Now that i had it all out I did notice that one of the plastic pedals did have a small amount of wear on it from where it box was damaged, it looks like the padding in that spot slightly shifted back allowing it to have contact with the box, very minimal damage to the bike given what the box looked like.
Putting the bike together was a breeze, it only required a few things to be out together and it was ready to go, only thing I wish is that they had provided a tool set even a cheap one that you don’t plan on keeping but something to help put it together as it did need several different types of tools. From out of the box, the battery was more than 50% charged, but I always try to charge things all the way before testing them out, so now we wait until tomorrow!
It’s the next day and im excited to test out the Buzz Centris, first thing i did was check the brakes, they needed a bit of adjustment so im glad i took that precaution, and dont be afraid to go over all the nuts and bolts to ensure they are all nice and tight, some of the bolts even have a paint marker to tell if the hardware has shifted, that’s a very smart thing that they did to help ensure the users safety. Now I know this may not be the same for all, but I didn’t find any loose hardware, so that was a pleasant surprise.
Finally, it was time to ride. I started with the assist down, and after pedaling, that gave me a very small push, light and pleasant, very easy to maintain control and to keep doing most of the work with the pedals. Now putting it on high, that’s a different story, for a 500 watt motor it was surprisingly peppy, this time when i started to pedal the bike just took off, in the low gears I wasn’t able to maintain a pedal speed to keep up with how fast the bike was going, so i had to change to a higher gear allowing me to have some control.
Once you are on the move, you can adjust your assist on the go, allowing you to have full adjustment of the extra power when you need it. Now don’t forget about the thumb throttle, with that you don’t have to pedal at all, once you are moving, you can just press down on the thumb throttle and take off, getting up to speeds of 20 mph with ease, tackling most hills and inclines with very minimal speed deficits. Now I’m not going to lie, I mainly used the motor only, yes, you have to pedal, but once you’re moving, you can just cruise easily and effortlessly.
So on the screen, you will see three indicators on the left side, one is the battery level, one is the amount of power that the motor is using vs how much you are helping with the pedals, and the last is the level of assistance by the motor. The three buttons on the screen are easy to read and very easy to use while riding as well, large buttons easily distinguishable from the next, helping you not have to take your eye off the road for too long.
The Buzz Centris not only is a powerful bike with even a fullgrown 230 pound rider, but it also compacts down into a suitcase sized cube, now how did they manage that, well you will see there are two folding points with some pretty stout locking mechanisms keeping them sealed shut until your ready to fold, and then at that point its as seats as folding in the foot pedals by squeezing the center of them, push the red button and pull the lever out, then you can fold the bike into half, you might need to position the pedals out of the way but that is easy to do by hand. Now that it’s in half, you will find on the handlebar neck another clasp with a very easy-to-press lock that once pressed, you can then fold the handles down, and that’s it. Easy-peasy, simple as one two three!
Because of the foldability and the baskets this bike would make a great addition to any road trip or beach haul, the larger tires help with traveling on any terrain and keeping the ride smooth and comfortable and you can very easily add a bag in the front and a large bag or maybe even a cooler in the back, the engineers over at Buzz gave you plenty of room for luggage while still making it extremely compact, and I meant its compact, although its on the bulky side it still fit in my model 3s truck with ease and that by my standards is a very small trunk!
With built-in safety features like a headlight and a taillight, you are ready for just about anything! Although the headlight isn’t as bright as others, it’s still plenty powerful to light up the way you confront it. The brake light isn’t an actual brake light; it acts more as a running light, so do be aware that people may not see that you are stopping from behind when riding at night. Also, there are no turn signals, so when riding at night in the city, where you have other traffic, you won’t have that extra safety feature, so just be aware of that ahead of time.
Perfect if you want.
