A 22-year-old graduate student who went missing after leaving a bar in Wisconsin is now the subject of a large search effort as her family issues a message on her mysterious disappearance.
According to police, Eliotte Heinz was last seen just before 3:30 a.m. Sunday walking southbound in the 500 block of Front Street South in La Crosse.
“Her family, friends and police have made several attempts to locate her with no success,” police said in an alert.
Missing persons reports indicated Heinz was at Bronco’s Bar in the Wisconsin city before she disappeared.
Police on Tuesday said search efforts were ongoing.
Heinz is a graduate student at Viterbo University in La Crosse, which has helped organize search efforts and has held a prayer service for her return.
In a statement shared by the school, Heinz’s family called on residents in the La Crosse area to check “any home security camera footage from early Sunday morning between 2-6 a.m.”
“Even the smallest detail could make a difference,” the statement read, urging anyone with information to contact the La Crosse Police Department.
Police said “numerous resources are being utilized” in their search efforts as they continue to field tips and follow up on information surrounding Heinz’s disappearance.
“On behalf of our entire family, thank you. The outpouring of support in the search for Eliotte has been overwhelming, and we are deeply grateful for the kindness, prayers, and encouragement from the community and beyond,” Heinz’s family said in their statement. “Many of you have asked how you can help. At this time, the most important thing you can do is continue sharing Eliotte’s information on social media.”
Donations to Heinz’s family, including for food and supplies, are being collected at the Viterbo University School of Nursing.
According to police Heinz is 5 feet, 4 inches tall, weighs about 120 pounds and has blonde hair and blue eyes. She was last seen wearing a white T-shirt and shorts.
