Costco’s iconic food court hot dog combo is about to change — but it’s not because of the price.
Earlier this year, Costco president and CEO Rob Vachris confirmed the warehouse club was planning to “convert” its food court fountain beverages “back” to Coca-Cola products. According to reports, Costco has been serving Pepsi products in its food courts since 2013.
Vachris said the change was expected to occur over the summer. Last week, it appeared Costco quietly began making the change, with members across social media sharing photos of the switch from their local stores.
Coca-Cola confirmed the change began rolling out to all Costco warehouses across the globe beginning July 1. Coca-Cola fountain machines will span Costco stores across 14 countries, the beverage brand said, with a full rollout expected by fall 2025.
As of July 22, it wasn’t immediately clear if Costco stores in Illinois had begun to make the switch, The club did not respond to NBC Chicago’s request for comment.
The switch to Coca-Cola comes amid other changes for Costco club members, including new gas station hours, new executive club member hours, and an increase to membership costs.
