The WBO are expected to order newly-minted undisputed heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk to defend his belts against Joseph Parker next.
Parker is the WBO interim champion, a belt he won in March 2024 with a majority decision win over Zhilei Zhang.
As the WBO are next up in the sanctioning body rotation system, the Kiwi is the frontrunner to get the first shot at the Ukrainian technician.
If Usyk decides to go down a different route for what is expected to be his final bow, then he is likely to be stripped of the WBO strap, and Parker will be elevated to full champion.
This same process played out last June when Usyk opted to pursue a rematch with Tyson Fury after unifying the division a month prior.
As a result, Dubois was boosted to full IBF champion and subsequently secured a rematch with ‘The Cat’ on Saturday night at Wembley Stadium for all four major sanctioning body belts.
Dubois was stopped by a stiff jab in the ninth round of their inaugural encounter back in August 2023.
And on Saturday night, Usyk got the job done four rounds quicker.
This time, with a looping left from the Gods.
Usyk has now beaten Anthony Joshua, Fury and Dubois twice, leaving only Parker left to conquer.
The 33-year-old previously reigned as the full WBO heavyweight champion between 2016 and 2018 before being dethroned by AJ.
He was written off by several members of the boxing fraternity after falling to a third career defeat at the hands of Joe Joyce in 2022.

Victories over Deontay Wilder, Zhang and Martin Bakole in his last three outings have established him, once again, as one of the top heavyweights in the world.
At present, he is ranked No.3 in boxing’s glamour division behind Fury and Dubois.
And he could soar higher yet following ‘Triple D’s’ most recent setback.
