EastEnders reveals dark threat in dramatic Oscar Branning debut in BBC iPlayer release

**Warning: Contains major spoilers for the Monday 14th July 2025 BBC iPlayer episode of EastEnders.*

Oscar Branning (played by Pierre Moullier) has made his entrance in dramatic style in EastEnders.

Just as Lauren Branning (Jacqueline Jossa) had got back on track with fiancé Peter Beale (Thomas Law), she received an out of the blue call and raced off without telling Peter where she was going.

Lauren arrived to pick up younger brother Oscar from the youth detention centre, where the lad appeared ready to go with a cheeky grin, a cigarette to hand and an ankle tag.

As Lauren reeled to learn that Oscar expected to move in with her, and that their mum Tanya (Jo Joyner) had kicked Oscar out when his gang 'mate' had tried to petrol bomb their home, Peter was shocked when a man arrived to assess the house for Oscar.

Peter and dad Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt) soon found Lauren and Oscar, but trouble ensued when Oscar spotted the gang nearby and hid out of sight.

Lauren and Peter attempted daft impersonations of police officers to scare them off, before Oscar commandeered a van and drove them all back to Albert Square.

It wasn't long before Jack Branning (Scott Maslen) got home from caring for injured sister Suzy (Julie Christian-Young, Maggie O'Neill) and came face-to-face with his nephew.

With Oscar taking a shine to Peter and joking that he would try not to seduce him, we could barely keep up with his antics as the family reluctantly discussed where Oscar would be staying.

Getting the message, Oscar retreated outside, where Lauren followed and the siblings remembered late sister Abi (Lorna Fitzgerald), who died after a fall from The Queen Vic roof.

Oscar convinced Lauren to let him move in on the promise that he would behave, but danger lurked when Oscar got a menacing text from 'Fat Mike', and he grabbed a kitchen knife for protection.

Will Lauren find out what Oscar has brought to her door?

Actor Moullier delivered a compelling debut, and with Oscar and Lauren's dad Max (Jake Wood) also due to return, we can't wait to see how the Brannings fare in a brand new era.
