Harry Brook dethrones Joe Root to become No.1 Test batter, Shubman Gill shoots up rankings

England National Cricket Team batting sensation Harry Brook has dethroned his teammate Joe Root to become the No.1 batsman in the ICC Men's Test Batting Rankings.

Also, India National Cricket Team Test skipper Shubman Gill has made a massive jump and now occupies the sixth spot in the Test Rankings for batters.

    Harry Brook and Shubman Gill shine in India vs England series

    The 26-year-old Brook has been in sensational form in the ongoing Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy. In the first match at Headingley in Leeds, he registered 99 & 0 across two innings, before smashing 158 and 23 in the second Test match at Edgbaston in Birmingham.

    These performances, alongside Joe Root's failure in the first two matches, pushed him to the top of the rankings, with Joe Root dropping back to second spot.

    Meanwhile, India captain Shubman Gill, who has registered scores of 147, 8, 269, and 161 across four innings against the Three Lions, has gained 15 places to move to a new career-best rating and up to sixth spot overall in the ICC Test Batting Rankings.
