Lando Norris capitalised on a controversy involving Oscar Piastri and Max Verstappen to claim victory at a wet and wild British Grand Prix on Sunday.
The British driver claimed victory in his home race for the first time on an almost perfect day for McLaren, with Piastri finishing second.
Their closest rivals for the title – Red Bull’s Verstappen and George Russell of Mercedes – finished well off the pace after failing to get to grip with conditions.
Verstappen’s afternoon was ruined after he span out of control as Piastri braked too hard following a safety car, for which the McLaren driver was handed a 10-second penalty.
Sauber’s Niko Hulkenberg secured a first podium on his 239th F1 start, with Ferrari’s Lewis Hamilton in fourth.
