Indian former opening batsman Navjot Singh Sidhu shared his take on India's playing 11 for the test series in England. He has always backed the Indian side, and so did he after the Indian playing 11 was announced for the first test at Headingley.
However, after the humiliating loss at Leeds, Navjot Singh Sidhu has come forward and openly criticized the strategy of the Indian team. Sidhu, unlike others, did not slam the Indian management for picking players like Shardul Thakur.
He rather identified that India is 'feared' that they might lag in the batting department and hence always attempt to strengthen their batting order. In an attempt to add batting depth, they often compromise their bowling depth.
Navjot Singh Sidhu said, "I will not back a mindset which reflects fear."

The former opener, Navjot Singh Sidhu, has slammed Shubman Gill and the Indian management for the inadequate use of Shardul Thakur during the first test at Leeds.
Navjot Singh Sidhu identified the previous incident from the Sydney test when India played Washington Sundar and did not use his services wisely with the ball. However, this is evident that Sundar is a capable spinner and can bowl under all conditions.
He also mentioned how India is losing matches due to the 'fear' of their instability in the batting department. He also praised England for their fearless approach to the game, which gives them the confidence to maintain balance in the side.
India has a staunch Batting department in Tests
Though India might be underconfident about their test batting depth, the team has many players who have shown their caliber in the longest format of the game.
The likes of openers KL Rahul and Yashasvi Jaiswal scored stunning hundreds in the first test at Leeds, and their batting innings was backed by the Indian skipper Shubman Gill, who has announced his arrival in England in some style.
Before being announced as the skipper, Shubman Gill did not have a single hundred in SENA countries; however, the batter now possesses two hundreds, one came in the first innings at Leeds and the other at Birmingham.
Rishabh Pant broke several records with his twin hundreds at the Headingley test, as the batter scored 134 and 118 runs across both innings of the first test. India managed to score crucial runs in both innings; however, their lower order might have had a sudden fall, but India's batting tactics remain unaltered.

No Jasprit Bumrah, Kuldeep Yadav sidelined - India's bowling deck has a new look for the 2nd Test
After much talk, Jasprit Bumrah has been rested from the India Playing 11 for the second test at Edgbaston. This move has supposedly been made by the team management, citing his workload before the Lord's test.
However, without Jasprit Bumrah, the pace deck comprises Mohammed Siraj, Prasidh Krishna, and Akash Deep, who have been picked for the Edgbaston test. India also sidelined Kuldeep Yadav despite being lured in for his selection by several cricket pundits and former greats of the game.
India rather went with Washington Sundar, and pairing him alongside Ravindra Jadeja might introduce variety to the Indian spin deck.
