ROCHESTER, N.Y. – After yesterday’s flooding rains, we’re in for some more rain today, but unlike yesterday these storms will not anchor down and stay in the same place. Humid and warm air ahead of a cold front will spring up and turn into brief, passing moderate to heavy downpours with a chance rumble of thunder middle of this morning/early this afternoon most likely near the Finger Lakes. Then, in the late morning/early afternoon, converging lake breezes could cause a similar thundershower over the Rochester metro area. Winds pick up as the cold front draws near with gusts up to 30 MPH, then once it passes the rest of the afternoon and evening is looking mostly dry with a good amount of clearing.
Tomorrow will be the better of the two weekend days. Mostly sunny, warm, and dry, and less windy as well. Monday and Tuesday temperature and humidity rise; heat index on Monday could reach 95 degrees.
Early look for the 4th of July is good! Still a few days out however, so make sure to check back in later.
