Bhubaneswar: Suryakanta Swain, Accountant at the Block Education Office, Kujanga, Jagatsinghpur, was caught red-handed by Odisha Vigilance today while accepting a bribe of Rs. 5,000.
The bribe was demanded from a teacher in exchange for facilitating the release of a house building advance worth Rs. 1,50,000.
A case has been registered against him under Cuttack Vigilance PS Case No. 16/2025, charged under Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act, 2018. Investigation is underway to uncover further details.
