GATES,N .Y. — The town of Gates will host a historical boat tour on the Erie Canal Wednesday June, 25 to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the canal.
The sold-out tour will follow the trail through Henpeck Park in Greece. Almost 100 local residents will be on board.
An opening ceremony will kick off at noon featuring Gates Town Supervisor Cosmo A. Guinta, Village of Spencerport Mayor Gary Penders and Monroe County Legislator Virginia McIntyre.

All are welcome to the Canal Museum in Spencerport for the ceremony. There will be music and food trucks.
The event is a collaboration between Gates, Spencerport, the Greece Historian Society and Monroe County/City of Rochester Historian Christine L. Ridarsky.
