Ishan Kishan officially drafted into red-ball squad for matches in England

The 26-year-old India National Cricket Team wicketkeeper-batsman Ishan Kishan has been roped in by Nottinghamshire for a short-term stint in the ongoing Rothesay County Championship.

Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club made the announcement regarding Ishan Kishan signing a deal on Friday, June 20, in the middle of the Test series opener between the India National Cricket Team and the England National Cricket Team.

Kishan is rated among the most talented young batters in world cricket, and he has represented the India National Cricket Team across all three formats of the game.

He has played 2 Test matches, 27 ODIs, and 32 T20Is for Team India. Kishan has scored 78 runs in his Test career, 933 runs in ODIs, and 796 runs in T20Is. He is also a world record holder for the fastest double century in ODI cricket, as he hit a double ton in just 126 balls against Bangladesh in Chattogram.

Talking about his numbers in first-class cricket, Ishan Kishan has played 58 matches and has scored 3447 runs at an average of 37.87, with 8 tons and 17 fifties. Currently, he is out of India's scheme of things across formats.

Meanwhile, Ishan Kishan has signed a two-match deal with Nottinghamshire, subject to international clearance. Kishan will replace Kyle Verreynne in the squad because the South African will be on national duty.

The Indian keeper-batter will be available for selection for the upcoming County Championship match against Yorkshire at Trent Bridge in Nottingham, which will be played from June 22 to 25, and against Somerset in Taunton, which will be played from June 29 to July 2.

We’re all very pleased to have secured the services of Ishan - Peter Moores

Nottinghamshire Head Coach Peter Moores said that they are delighted to rope in the services of Ishan Kishan, who brings quality with him. Peter stated:

“We’re all very pleased to have secured the services of Ishan for these next two Championship fixtures while Kyle is away with South Africa.

“We want players to be themselves and to bring their own game, and something that especially excites me about Ishan is how keen he is to be involved in county cricket.
