New Delhi: In the wake of the shocking gang rape incident at Gopalpur beach in Odisha, the All India Congress Committee (AICC) has constituted a fact-finding team to assess the worsening situation of women’s safety in the state.
A press release issued by AICC General Secretary K.C. Venugopal stated that the decision was taken following a rise in cases of atrocities against women and the alarming number of women reported missing in Odisha—reaching into the thousands over recent years.
The Congress President has deputed a team of senior leaders to visit Odisha and submit a detailed report.
The team comprises eepa Dasmunshi – Convenor, Ranjeet Ranjan, MP, Praniti Shinde, MP, S. Jothimani, MP and Shobha Oza.
