The Thiccer Kicker is heading back to the NFL.
Former Mizzou standout Harrison Mevis has reportedly landed an opportunity with the New York Jets. Mevis is coming off a strong showing in the UFL, the name of the spring professional league made up of XFL and USFL clubs.

— Rich Cimini (@RichCimini) June 17, 2025It’s the second NFL opportunity for Mevis. He previously signed with the Carolina Panthers during the 2024 offseason, but was let go during August roster cuts.

Mevis had a memorable career at Mizzou from 2020-23. He was recognized as a Freshman All-American in 2020 after making 17-of-20 field goals and all 28 extra-point attempts. Mevis was a first-team All-American and All-SEC selection in 2021, when he made a career-best 26-of-28 field goals.
In 2023, Mevis was second-team All-SEC when he went 24-of-30 on field goals, including his career-long of 61 yards, breaking a Mizzou school record.
