SANTA BARBRA COUNTY, Calif. – Charges including attempted murder and kidnapping have been filed against Russell Maxwell Phay, the man arrested after a standoff at a Montecito house earlier this week.
According to the Santa Barbra County District Attorney's Office, Phay is facing the following charges:
Phay is also facing the special allegation for personally inflicting great bodily injury resulting in a coma added the Santa Barbara County District Attorney's Office.
Your News Channel was able to confirm Wednesday that a woman was transported to the hospital with "severe injuries" related to an assault.
The 42-year-old is currently scheduled for a preliminary hearing setting on June 2, 2025, and a preliminary hearing on the following day, June 3, 2025, shared the Santa Barbara County District Attorney's Office.
Phay's bail has been set at $1,000,000 noted the Santa Barbara County District Attorney's Office.
