The Benicia Fire Department is fighting a fire at the Valero refinery in Benicia.
The fire department is telling people if they can smell or see smoke to go inside and close all their doors and windows.
Robert Semple Elementary School is currently under a shelter-in-place order. School officials say there is no indication they are in immediate danger.
Contra Costa Health officials are sending a HazMat team to the Martinez refinery to monitor potential impacts from the refinery fire in Benicia.
