Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) spinner Varun Chakravarthy has oozed his class with the ball in the ongoing game against Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. The match between the two teams is taking place at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
Defending the target of 207 runs, Kolkata Knight Riders have brought their best with the ball in the ongoing game against Rajasthan Royals. The spinners, in particular, have been magnificent as they have made life tough for the opposition batters with their variations.
First, it was Moeen Ali, who was all over the batters right from the start, and then the show was stolen by Varun Chakravarthy. The mystery spinner bowled a decent first over and then made sure that he added his name to the wickets column.
In the 8th over of the innings, which was the second of Varun Chakravarthy, the mystery spinner changed the game for his team within the span of 6 balls. On the third ball of the over, the Kolkata Knight Riders spinner came up with the magical ball to remove Dhruv Jurel, who failed to make a mark.
Varun Chakravarthy floated up a delivery nicely outside off, and it was on a length. Dhruv Jurel was not sure which way the ball would turn as he failed to read the wrong 'un and paid the price. He came up with the tentative front foot movement as he tried to keep it out, but left a bat-pad gap.
Varun Chakravarthy, however, didn't stop as after that, he came up with another magical ball to remove Wanindu Hasaranga. On the 5th ball of the over, the mystery spinner bowled a tossed-up googly outside off, to which the batter tried to push it with minimal foot movement.
Wanindu Hasaranga attempted to play it towards the cover, but he got beaten on the inside edge as the ball went onto hit the off-stump. Varun Chakravarthy, in that over, used the surface to the full extent as it has been gripping and turning, and the KKR spinner weaved his magic.
