Koraput: Odisha Vigilance on Friday apprehended Sakuntala Das, Child Development Project Officer (CDPO) of Dashmantpur Block, Koraput District, and Minati Khosla, an Anganwadi Worker at Adhamunda Anganwadi Centre, for demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs. 10,000.
Sakuntala Das, CDPO, Dashmantpur Block, Dist-Koraput has been apprehended by Odisha Vigilance along with Smt. Minati Khosla, Anganwadi Worker of Adhamunda Anganwadi Centre, for demanding and taking bribe Rs.10,000/- from a newly appointed Anganwadi Helper in order to open her personal file and release her salary.
The bribe was demanded from a newly appointed Anganwadi Helper, who had joined an Anganwadi Centre under Dashmantpur Block one and a half months ago, to open her personal file and release her salary.
Das instructed the helper to pay the amount to her associate, Khosla. Faced with no alternative, the helper approached Vigilance officials for help.
Das was caught red-handed while accepting the bribe through Khosla. The entire bribe amount of Rs. 10,000 was recovered and seized by the authorities.
Following the trap, simultaneous searches are underway at three locations linked to Das and one location associated with Khosla to investigate potential disproportionate assets.
A case has been registered under Koraput Vigilance P.S. Case No. 18/2025, under Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act, 2018. Investigation against the two accused is ongoing.
