Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) faced a massive blow in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 game against Delhi Capitals (DC). Skipper Ajinkya Rahane walked off the field with an injury at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on Tuesday (29th April).
Kolkata Knight Riders are giving everything with the ball in what is the must-win encounter for them in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. They have been put under pressure by the Delhi Capitals batters, but they are making sure they don't take things easy.
Amid all this, skipper Ajinkya Rahane also got injured in an attempt to stop the ball. The incident happened on the 1st ball of the 12th over, which was a no-ball when Andre Russell was bowling to Delhi Capitals opener Faf du Plessis, who was going great guns with the bat.
Andre Russell bowled a half-volley outside off, to which Faf du Plessis got forward to drive to extra cover, where Ajinkya Rahane was stationed. The Kolkata Knight Riders skipper couldn't stop it cleanly, as the ball ended up hitting him hard on the finger.
Ajinkya Rahane's finger was bleeding as physios came out on the field, and he was taken off. The skipper looked in pain as he went off at the crucial juncture of the game.
