A Russian drone strike in Ukraine has killed one and injured four others, including an 11-year-old girl, local authorities have said.
The strike on Kamianske in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast comes after Donald Trump and Volodymyr Zelensky held a brief meeting at the Vatican City ahead of Pope Francis’s funeral, according to Sky News.
“Unfortunately, a man was killed,” said Serhii Lysak, the head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration, said on the messaging app Telegram, according to Ukrinform.
“Four people were injured. An 11-year-old girl and three women, one of whom is in serious condition.”
Lysak added three apartment blocks and six cars were damaged in the attack overnight.
A spokesman for Zelensky said the pair will meet again after Francis’s funeral.
Ahead of the funeral, the US President said Russia and Ukraine “are very close to a deal” after a meeting between his envoy Steve Witkoff and Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow on Sunday.
