A 31-year-old man was arrested in connection with a series of burglaries in Jacumba, law enforcement said Thursday.
On April 17, Miguel Sua was contacted by deputies from the Sheriff’s Rural Command in a neighborhood where a series of burglaries had recently taken place, according to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Office.
After completing an initial investigation, deputies arrested Sua for suspicion of possessing burglary tools and stolen property. A follow-up investigation found Sua allegedly responsible for multiple burglaries in the area, the agency said.
On Monday, just after 8 a.m., deputies served a search warrant at Sua’s home in Jacumba, and found several firearms, ammunition, more than a quarter pound of fentanyl and multiple items stolen during other alleged residential burglaries, the sheriff’s office reported.
Several of the recovered items have been returned to the victims. Other victims were being identified.
Sua was charged with multiple counts of alleged residential burglary, officials said.
The sheriff’s office was working with the San Diego County District Attorney’s Office to add charges of felon in possession of a firearm, felon in possession of ammunition, possession of fentanyl for sale and additional counts of residential burglary.
