AUSTIN (KXAN) -- The Austin Police Department Bomb Squad is responding to an incident in north Austin, the agency confirmed on social media Monday.
The bomb squad responded to the incident in the 11900 block of Dove Haven Drive around 11:30 a.m., according to police. APD told KXAN there were no arrests or injuries at this time.
However, police said those nearby should avoid the area, as well as seek alternate routes due to possible road closures.
According to APD, there was no immediate threat to the general public. But as a precaution, the department said it sent "a text/call message alert" to neighbors in the area to shelter in place. That is also known as a reverse 911 call.
