LEAVITTSBURG — James Wesley Allen, 63, entered into eternal life, Friday evening, March 28, 2025, after a courageous battle against pancreatic cancer.
Jim was born Oct. 15, 1961, in Warren, the son of the late James and Willie Allen.
He is survived by his wife, the love of his life, Debra Allen; his daughter, Tisha Allen; his son, Jesse “James” Allen; five grandchildren, Aaron, Lukas, Kylie, Olivia and Josie; three sisters, Marla Kelecava, Eutona “Tonnie” Nance and Tommie “Darlene” Wood; one brother, Timothy Allen; and his best pal of 20 years and brother, Perry Postlethwaite.
A 1979 graduate of LaBrae High School, Jim was always a stern, “tell it like it is” guy, but still a well-respected, blue-collar man whose only desire in life was to provide for his family. He most enjoyed bossing around his former employees at Engineered Wire Products, except for his “work wife,” Dawn. Jim also enjoyed hunting, fishing, tinkering in his garage, playing the lottery, attending to his yard and maintaining his massive garden. He also enjoyed watching Westerns, listening to AM radio, classic rock music, attending concerts and carrying on his father’s tradition by participating in the Annual Coon Hunters Festival. He especially loved his dogs, Rusty, Chance, Snoop, Charlie, Daisy, and his favorite, Jake.
His family and closest friends will always remember James by his infamous nickname, “Big Daddy.”
His request for cremation without services has been honored.
