DENVER (KDVR) — Westminster police are investigating after a police pursuit ended in Denver when the suspect reportedly crashed into another vehicle. The suspect and a victim were injured in the crash.
At 10:15 p.m. Wednesday, the Westminster Police Department said officers responded to reports of a disturbance at the Comfort Suits near 120th Avenue and Delaware Street in North Westminster.
According to police, the reports involved a man wanted for several felony warrants.
FOX31 Newsletters: Sign up to get breaking news sent to your inboxWhen officers arrived at the hotel and attempted to make contact with the suspect, the department said the suspect tried to run over officers with a vehicle and rammed into a patrol car before fleeing the scene.
Officers pursued the suspect's vehicle into east Denver until the suspect reportedly crashed into a car with three people inside near Interstate 70 and Interstate 225.
Locations of the two crashes were a suspect reportedly rammed into a patrol vehicle and then crashed into another car on I-70 (KDVR)Following the crash, the department said the suspect and one person from the other vehicle were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Denver police posted on X and said officers were assisting. Westbound Interstate 70 is closed at Chambers Road.
The investigation is ongoing.
