JAMIE Laing has reached the final leg of his Comic Relief Ultra Marathon but has admitted he is in “agony” and his “body is broken”.
The former Made In Chelsea star, 36, is now on the final stage of his 150-mile challenge but is really struggling with painful injuries.
Before setting off, Jamie told fans his knee had “blown up” and that his body had become overheated while scaling big hills yesterday.
Jamie has also hurt his ankle and admits he has really struggled with his emotions during the gruelling ultra marathon.
In a post shared to Instagram, Jamie thanked his followers for all their donations and messages of support throughout the challenge.
But he said: “Hopefully… hopefully… I make it to Salford today.
“My body is broken. It’s screaming to say stop but I’m going to do my best!”
He added: “Love to every single person – and just remember (coming from someone who had only ever run a 5K before this year and who’s suffered with anxiety) you are stronger than you think, better than you will ever know and you can achieve anything if you put your mind to it.”
At 7am today, Jamie began his fifth ultra run in five consecutive days in an effort to raise thousands more pounds for Comic Relief.
The former Strictly Come Dancing star is running from London to Salford and will be joined today by Radio 1 DJ Greg James – who will be wearing wedding dress, after Jamie managed to net more than £500,000 in donations.
Jamie has also been surprised by his wife, Sophie Habboo.
However, on Thursday evening, Jamie shared a video of the day’s events, which saw him vomiting on the side of the road.
He also told fans about the injuries he has now found himself plagued with and the emotions he is battling.
Jamie said: “If I’m honest I didn’t think it could get worse than yesterday but I was wrong.
“My knee blew up, I over heated, I’m ankle is swollen and the town of Matlock has some huge hills.
“But somehow, and I mean somehow I made it through.
“I’ve also been more emotional than I’ve ever been in my life. I’m not too sure why, but it’s definitely been a release of emotions….”
Jamie’s run will feature tonight on tonight’s Comic Relief, which airs from 7pm on BBC One.
Morning Live presenters Helen Skelton and Gethin Jones have also been doing their bit to raise money for the cause.
The pair are currently doing a nonstop 24-hour roller disco.
