SACRAMENTO – One person was detained and two people were injured after a house fire in south Sacramento Thursday evening, firefighters said.
Crews responded to Carnation Avenue between 51st and 50th Avenues around 3:45 p.m. to find a large fire in the garage that was extending to the home.
Sacramento Fire Department said there was an explosion that blew the walls from the foundation, causing it to be unsafe to occupy.
One person took off from the scene on a bike, firefighters said, and was later detained.
A woman and man were injured by the fire, firefighters said.
Investigators are at the scene and the fire is suspicious in nature.
