WARREN — A student at Warren G. Harding High School faces potential criminal charges after a knife and THC vape pens were discovered in a backpack during a security check Tuesday morning, according to a Warren Police Department report.
The incident occurred around 7:50 a.m. Tuesday during student arrival at the school, 860 Elm Road NE. A school principal conducting a routine backpack inspection at an entrance recovered a folding blade knife and two THC vape pens, the report states.
The student received a 10-day suspension pending an expulsion hearing and their parents were notified. Police said they would consult the city prosecutor’s office about filing charges related to illegal conveyance of weapons in school safety zones and drug possession.
