This week’s Hometown Hero, presented by Hendrick Southpoint, is Joseph Adams.
Adams is a Chapel Hill native who has been the kitchen team lead with the Inter-Faith Council of Social Service heading up their community kitchen. The community kitchen provides lunch and dinner to anyone in the community, serving roughly 100 people per day, including kids. Adams builds a meal from donations they receive each day, making multiple courses as well. Not only does Adams make every person in the community who comes to eat feel comfortable (even teaching himself other languages to converse with them), but he also manages the volunteers who come in to help and makes the kitchen a positive, welcoming environment for all.
