(KRON) -- Vallejo Police said a juvenile suspect who was "too young to have a driver's license" led police on a dangerous chase before abandoning the car and trying to run away.
Loaded ghost gun recovered after overnight San Jose traffic stopVallejo PD said a Hyundai Sonata was reported stolen overnight Tuesday from the 600 block of Alabama Street. On Friday, the same car was spotted by officers as it sped through a red light and almost caused several traffic collisions.
Police said patrol vehicles began to pursue the driver through city streets, but the driver did not slow down or stop – "ignoring stop signs, swerving into oncoming traffic, and running multiple red lights with no regard for public safety."
Police said officers were able to successfully perform an "immobilization technique" that disabled the car near Mendocino and L. Ellenburg streets.
After a brief foot chase, Vallejo PD confirmed the juvenile suspect was taken into custody and booked into the Solano County Juvenile Detention Facility. The child's parent was made aware of the arrest. The owner of the stolen vehicle was notified of her recovered car.
Police said there were no injuries reported during the incident.
